My favorite childhood memory was rewinding our vhs copy of The Fox & The Hound over & over again.

This was a personal project that I worked on during downtime in the office back in 2013. Till today, it’s still one of my most favorite paintings! My take away from the movie: Even though society forces us into boxes (stimulating hate & aggression) by the end of the day, it all boils down to the relationship that we have with other people – love & friendship prevails. Of course, when I was a kid, I only thought that Todd & Copper were cute & that I really liked their friendship. The Fox & the Hound became my favorite movie with Swan Princess trailing behind.

I remember buying a few sets of Kyle Webster’s Photoshop brushes & I couldn’t wait to try them out! Picking a subject was easy cause I’ve always wanted to create a painting of that scene wherein Todd first met Copper.

Laying out the sketch & base colors were easy enough, but when it came to the details, my hand started hurting midway with all the strokes that I kept making. The log took the longest time, but I’m pretty happy that despite the suffering, this is what I ended up with.

Hopefully, I can paint another scene like this one day soon. 🙂
