Which team are you on?

Note: Most of the illustrations are provided by Starbucks.

Considering that more people are often on their phones than their desktops, we designed & developed this microsite using the “mobile-first” strategy.

  • Client: Starbucks
  • Project Brief: Create a microsite for Starbucks’ Team Macchiato Campaign, wherein users can vote for their favorite Macchiato drink!
  • Materials: Pencil & paper, Adobe Photoshop
  • Font(s): Myriad Pro, Avenir LT Std, Neutra Text, Redbird
  • Designed for: Carbon Digital, Inc.

Tallying the votes, the winning drink (per region) will have a “Buy One, Get One” offer in all branches/store, nationwide. Mechanics state that users are required to have a Facebook account & by liking Facebook photos that correspond to the Macchiato beverage that they want to win, they can then proceed to the microsite & vote for their favorite drink!

This took awhile to finish since additional elements were added last minute. Fortunately, I tagged team with my junior, Gretch Fuentes, & even got some help from my then-senior, Sir Carl Laurino on some calligraphy! My co-worker, Jess Limcangco, also added some elements to this microsite to make it better!

The plan was to make it fun & interactive while still using the look & theme of Starbucks.

We made the pages simple, pinning the focal point to the voting system. The tally percentage was provided at the bottom as information for the users so that people can invite more of their friends to vote for the drink that they want to win.

Overall: I’ve always loved working on projects from Starbucks because of the look & feel of their brand. This was a fun project to work on & I honestly ended up asking my friends to keep voting for Chocolate Hazelnut the last few days before the campaign ended!
